**Daily Groove is designed with privacy at its core.** Your data is stored on your device and syncs securely through Apple's iCloud when you're signed in. We (Three Hippies) do not collect, access, or store any of your personal information on our own servers. Your data is between you and Apple only.

Daily Groove stores the following information

- Which tasks you complete each day
- When you complete tasks
- Task completion streaks and history
### Mood Tracking Data
- Mood ratings (1-5 scale)
- Optional notes you add to mood entries
- Date and time of mood check-ins
### App Preferences
- Your task configuration settings (random vs. specific tasks)
- Selected tasks for your daily routine
- Custom tasks you create
- Notification preferences and reminder times
- Notification permission status
## How We Use Your Information
Your information is used
**exclusively on your device** to:
- Display your daily tasks
- Track your completion progress
- Show mood trends and insights
- Calculate streaks and statistics
- Send local notifications for reminders (if you enable them)
- Remember your app preferences
## Data Storage
Your data is stored on your device and syncs securely through Apple's iCloud:
### What Syncs to iCloud (via CloudKit)
- **Task and Mood Data**: All daily logs, task completions, mood entries, and custom tasks sync across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account
- Uses Apple's **Core Data with CloudKit** framework for secure, encrypted sync
- Requires you to be signed into iCloud on your device
- **The app works perfectly without iCloud**—data stays local if you're not signed in
### What Stays on Your Device Only
- **App Preferences**: Your settings, notification preferences, and task configuration (stored in UserDefaults)
- **Local Notifications**: Reminder notifications never leave your device
**We (Three Hippies) do not operate any servers or collect your data.** All sync happens directly between your devices and Apple's iCloud infrastructure.
## Data Sharing
**We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your data to any third parties.** When you're signed into iCloud, your data syncs to your personal Apple iCloud account—but we (Three Hippies) never see, access, or share it.
Specifically:
- No analytics services
- No advertising networks
- No data brokers
- No sharing with social media platforms
- No third-party servers (only Apple's iCloud for your personal sync)
- **Apple handles all iCloud data** per their privacy policy (we have no access)
## Third-Party Services
Daily Groove does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics platforms.
## Your Rights and Choices
### Data Deletion
You can permanently delete all your data at any time by:
1. Opening Daily Groove
2. Going to Settings
3. Tapping "Reset All Data"
This will permanently remove all task completions, mood entries, and custom tasks from your device
**and from iCloud** (if you're signed in). The deletion syncs across all your devices.
### Uninstalling the App
Deleting Daily Groove from your device will remove all associated data stored by the app.
### Notifications
You can control notification permissions through:
- Daily Groove Settings tab
- iOS Settings → Notifications → Daily Groove
## Children's Privacy
Daily Groove does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for general wellness and habit tracking and is suitable for all ages. However, we recommend parental guidance for users under 13.
## Health Information Disclaimer
**Important:** Daily Groove is NOT a medical device or health monitoring app. It is a self-help tool for building positive daily habits and general mood awareness.
The mood tracking feature is for personal reflection only and should not be used as a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are experiencing mental health concerns, please consult with a qualified healthcare provider.
## Data Security
Your data is protected by multiple layers of security:
### On Your Device
- Your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID) protect your local data
- Device encryption is enabled by default on modern iOS devices

- Apple encrypts data in transit and at rest in iCloud
- CloudKit data is protected by your Apple ID and two-factor authentication

## iCloud Sync & Backup
### CloudKit Sync (Active)
Daily Groove uses **Apple's CloudKit** to automatically sync your data across all your devices signed into the same iCloud account. This means:
- Your daily tasks, mood entries, and custom tasks appear on all your Apple devices
- Changes sync in real-time when you have an internet connection
- Data syncs even when the app is closed
- **You control this:** Sign out of iCloud or delete the app to stop syncing
### iCloud Backup (Passive)
Additionally, if you have **iCloud Backup** enabled in iOS settings, your Daily Groove data may also be included in standard device backups. This is separate from CloudKit sync and is controlled by your iOS settings:
1. Go to iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup
2. This setting backs up all app data as part of your device backup
**Both features are part of Apple's iCloud service and subject to Apple's privacy policy.**

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
